RBI Assistant 2026 recruitment has reached the next important stage. The Reserve Bank of India released the Main Examination result on 24 September 2026 for candidates who appeared in the 07 June mains exam. The result is available as a roll-number list. Candidates whose roll numbers appear in it have not completed the entire selection process yet; they have been shortlisted for the Language Proficiency Test (LPT). The LPT checks proficiency in the local language of the RBI office for which the candidate applied. This recruitment is being conducted for 650 Assistant vacancies under the βPanel Year 2025β cycle. Final selection will depend on the mains performance, subject to qualifying the prescribed Language Proficiency Test and satisfying RBI's eligibility and document requirements.

π Eligibility
Educational Qualification
A Bachelor's Degree in any discipline with at least 50% aggregate marks was required for the RBI Assistant application. For SC, ST and PwBD candidates, a pass class in the Bachelor's Degree was sufficient under the prescribed eligibility conditions.
Applicants also needed knowledge of word processing on a computer. Since RBI Assistant vacancies are filled office-wise, proficiency in the local language of the concerned State or Union Territory is another important part of eligibility.
Local Language Requirement
Reading, writing, speaking and understanding the applicable local language is required. Candidates shortlisted through the mains examination must clear the Language Proficiency Test unless they satisfy any exemption specifically permitted under RBI's rules.
At the current result stage, the degree qualification is no longer the immediate concern for most shortlisted candidates. They should instead check the LPT instructions carefully and keep the original documents supporting the details entered in their application ready for verification.
