BPSC School Teacher TRE 4.0 Recruitment 2026 – Apply Online for 32,388 Posts
📌 Short Information
Bihar's fourth School Teacher Recruitment Examination covers 32,388 vacancies, but this time applicants should pay particular attention to the revised schedule. BPSC had originally planned to open TRE 4.0 applications on 1 September 2026, then stopped the process before registration began. The Commission subsequently indicated 21 September as the likely revised starting date after changes to the advertisement and online application system. The vacancies are spread across four teaching levels – Primary, Middle, Secondary and Higher Secondary. That means eligibility is not the same for all 32,388 posts. The required academic degree, teacher-training qualification and CTET/BTET/STET status depend on the class level and subject selected in the application. Applicants should therefore match their qualification with the relevant post rather than relying only on the overall vacancy count.

🎓 Eligibility
TRE 4.0 does not have one common educational qualification for all 32,388 vacancies. A candidate applying for a Primary Teacher post has a different qualification route from someone applying to teach a specialised subject in Classes 9–10 or 11–12.
Primary Teacher – Classes 1 to 5
The prescribed elementary-teacher qualification is required, such as the applicable 10+2 / graduation route with D.El.Ed., B.El.Ed. or another qualification accepted under the recruitment rules. The required CTET / BTET qualification must also be held wherever prescribed.
Middle School Teacher – Classes 6 to 8
Applicants need the academic and teacher-training qualification prescribed for the middle-school level. The relevant graduation, D.El.Ed. / B.Ed. or accepted equivalent route and applicable teacher eligibility test must be checked against the subject and category of post.
Secondary Teacher – Classes 9 to 10
For secondary classes, subject eligibility becomes important. The graduation qualification must correspond to the subject being applied for, along with the required teacher-training qualification and STET / other prescribed eligibility condition.
Higher Secondary Teacher – Classes 11 to 12
Higher Secondary posts require the prescribed postgraduate or subject-specific academic qualification together with the applicable teacher-training and eligibility-test requirements. A qualification valid for a Primary Teacher post should not be assumed to qualify a candidate for Classes 11–12.
Before submitting the form, match the exact subject and teaching level with the revised BPSC advertisement. This is especially important in TRE 4.0 because the recruitment combines four different school levels in one advertisement.
🎂 Age Limit as On: 01 Aug, 2026
- Primary / Middle School Teacher: Minimum 18 Years
- Secondary / Higher Secondary Teacher: Minimum 21 Years
- General Male: Maximum 37 Years
- Reserved categories / female candidates: Age relaxation as per Bihar Government rules
- Exact age cut-off date should be checked in the revised TRE 4.0 advertisement.

📝 How to Fill Application Form
Start from the BPSC website and open the online application section for Advertisement No. 14/2026. If the TRE 4.0 application link is active, complete the required registration or OTR process first and then open the School Teacher application.
The most important choice in this form is the teaching level and subject. Select these only after checking that your academic degree, teacher-training qualification and CTET/BTET/STET status meet the requirement for that particular post.
Application Steps
- Open the official BPSC website.
- Go to the Online Application / TRE 4.0 section.
- Complete registration or OTR as required.
- Select the appropriate teacher level and subject.
- Enter personal, educational and eligibility-test details carefully.
- Upload the required photograph, signature and supporting documents.
- Pay the prescribed application fee.
- Review the complete form before final submission.
- Download the submitted application and payment receipt for future use.
Do not use the old 1 September application schedule as a reason to rush or submit through an unofficial website. Follow the application link and dates displayed by BPSC after the revised TRE 4.0 process becomes active.
✅ Selection Process
TRE 4.0 selection is centred on the BPSC teacher examination rather than an interview-based recruitment process. Applicants first have to satisfy the qualification and teacher-eligibility conditions for the post they choose, and their documents remain subject to verification.
Selection Stages
- Written Examination as prescribed by BPSC
- Result / Merit Preparation
- Document and Eligibility Verification
- Final Recommendation / Appointment Process
BPSC's current exam calendar has not fixed a new TRE 4.0 examination date after the application schedule was revised. The examination pattern and any stage-wise changes should therefore be taken from the revised advertisement rather than from the older proposed September examination programme.
