This post required a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized university. It was not a graduation-only post, though: candidates also needed the prescribed computer qualification and typing ability in both Hindi and English.

Data Entry Operator

DEO had a different entry qualification. Intermediate (10+2) was sufficient academically, but the recruitment also tested whether the candidate could actually work at the required data-entry speed.

• O Level or equivalent computer qualification

Stenographer

• Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University
• Hindi Stenography Speed: 80 WPM
• Hindi Typing: 30 WPM
• English Typing: 30 WPM
• Prescribed computer qualification

• Minimum Age for Data Entry Operator: 18 Years
• Minimum Age for Assistant Branch Officer / Stenographer: 21 Years
• Maximum Age for Male Candidates: 37 Years
• Maximum Age for Female Candidates: 40 Years
• Age Calculation Date: 01 January 2024
• Additional relaxation was applicable as per Bihar Legislative Council Secretariat recruitment rules.

Category-Wise Vacancy

Start from the Recruitment or Result section of the Bihar Legislative Council website and look for Advertisement No. 02/2024. This number is more useful than searching only by the words “Bihar Vidhan Parishad Result”, because several different recruitment cycles are currently listed on the same page.

Open the notice carrying your post name – Assistant Branch Officer, Data Entry Operator or Stenographer. If the result is issued as a PDF, search it with your roll number. Candidates whose notice calls for certificate verification should also download that notice separately, as the result PDF and verification instructions may not contain the same information.

• Match the post name with your original application.
• Keep your roll number or registration details ready.
• Read any separate certificate-verification notice issued for your post.

Assistant Branch Officer

The Assistant Branch Officer process did not end with the preliminary test. Candidates clearing the first stage moved ahead to the post-specific second/main stage, followed by the further formalities prescribed by the Secretariat.

Data Entry Operator

For DEO, computer ability is part of the job itself, so the recruitment included a skill/typing stage after the preliminary examination. Final consideration depended on clearing the required stages and document checks.

Stenographer

Stenographer candidates had to demonstrate both stenography and typing skills. The recruitment therefore moved from the preliminary examination to the prescribed skill stage before final selection.
