Physical Standard Test (PST)

Female candidates of all categories must have a minimum weight of 48 kg. Male candidates must have a minimum chest expansion of 5 cm.

2. Open the Bihar Police recruitment section.
3. Find Advertisement No. 01/2026 for Special Branch Constable.
4. Click on the PST Admit Card download link.
5. Enter the required candidate login details.
6. Download the PST/DV Admit Card and check the reporting time, venue and instructions.
7. Take a printout of the admit card and carry the required original documents for verification.

Candidates should also carry the original certificates and required self-attested copies for Document Verification as instructed by CSBC.

The Bihar Police Special Branch Constable selection process consists of the Written Examination, Physical Standard Test (PST) and Document Verification. Final merit is prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the Main Written Examination, subject to qualifying the required stages.

Written Examination

The written examination consists of two objective papers. Each paper carries 100 marks and candidates get 90 minutes for each paper. There is negative marking of 0.25 mark for every incorrect answer.

Minimum Written Exam Requirement

Candidates are required to obtain at least 30% marks separately in both written examination papers to remain eligible for the next stage. Candidates are shortlisted for the Physical Standard Test according to written examination merit and the prescribed category-wise ratio.

Physical Standard Test (PST)

The PST is qualifying in nature. Candidates must satisfy the prescribed height, chest and weight standards. No marks are awarded for the Physical Standard Test.

Document Verification

Candidates qualifying the PST have to produce the required original educational, age, reservation and other applicable certificates for verification. Document Verification may be conducted on the same day as the PST.

Final Merit

The final category-wise merit list is prepared on the basis of marks obtained in the Main Written Examination among candidates who successfully qualify the prescribed subsequent stages.
